Highlights of the evening included comments by Dr. Parkash Gill, (professor of Medicine and Pathology at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and Leader of the Transitional and Clinical and Sciences Program), who is conducting the Sarcoma Clinical Trial that DAM-Cancer is currently supporting.

Former recipient Ryan Stevens shared his story that a grant from DAM-Cancer made a positive difference in his fight against cancer. He thanked the donors and requested that they continue their support of DAM-Cancer.

The elegant, fun, unique event, attended by more than 220, was a phenomenal success raising approximately $50,000 for DAM-Cancer! Plan to join us next year for our second Southern California event to benefit DAM-Cancer.

Sixth Annual DAM-Cancer Golf Classic and Dinner

THANK YOU to all of you who made the 6TH Annual DAM-Cancer Golf Classic and Dinner the most successful yet with a net profit of $48,000. These funds translate directly into grants for more young adults who are battling cancer. The golf tournament was followed by a Reception and Dinner with Silent Auction and Opportunity Drawing.

Past Foundation grant recipient, Wendy Muller, was the Dinner guest speaker. Her sister Jessica, who was her bone marrow donor, accompanied her. Wendy shared her cancer story and told how the Foundation’s assistance made the difference in her life while she underwent cancer treatment, which included a bone marrow transplant. In talking about her time in treatment, Wendy said, “Unfortunately, the question, how can I afford this, came up many times. At a time when all my energy went into fighting cancer, I couldn’t afford to worry about finances. The Maddan Foundation’s generous donation lightened the load and eased my mind.” Wendy has been in remission for two years now and we wish her well.
